National Friendly helps cricket stars of tomorrow

Kirby Lewis Cricket and specialist health insurer, National Friendly, are excited to announce the arrival of new cricket coaching courses for children from the Gloucestershire region.

Kirby Lewis Cricket is a joint venture started by Gloucestershire cricket stars Steve Kirby and Jon Lewis. The duo is committed to developing young cricketing talent in the county by sharing their skills and passion for the game with the next generation of sporting hopefuls.

Sponsored by Bristol-based National Friendly, the coaching courses are taking place at various Gloucestershire locations from 26th – 30th October. Open to children aged 6 -11, each course consists of five sessions that aim to develop the youngsters’ cricketing skills, as well as their love for the game. The children will be awarded bronze, silver or gold skills awards providing they reach the required pass mark for their age group.

Alan Gledhill, sales and marketing director at National Friendly, said: “As a Bristol-based company, we are committed to supporting local initiatives and we recognised the benefits the Kirby Lewis Cricket coaching courses will bring to children in the Gloucestershire area. The courses are a fantastic way for children to learn more about cricket, under the guidance and training of experts in the sport. We are delighted to able to provide the funding in order to make this happen.”

The coaching sessions are running in the following locations across:The University of West England in Bristol, Marling School in Stroud, Bishops College in the Forest of Dean and Pates Grammar School in Cheltenham.
