Specialist health insurer National Friendly is expanding its intermediary team with the appointment of Stephen Schofield and David Pooles as new broker consultants for the North and South West respectively.
National Friendly is enjoying record growth in its intermediary division and is building on this success by expanding the team to meet the increasing demand for broker support in these areas.
Stephen Schofield joins the mutual society with 17 years’ experience working in the financial services industry. With extensive expertise in broker sales, Stephen has spent the last seven years at Skipton Building Society as sales manager for the home loans division.
Currently based in Oldham, Stephen will be covering the North of England, working on a mobile basis, using his sales experience and financial services industry knowledge to drive National Friendly’s intermediary division forward.
David Pooles, joins National Friendly’s intermediary team from 425 Direct, a financial advice service that was acquired by National Friendly in September 2009. As a result, David brings to the new role a detailed knowledge of the National Friendly product offering, as well as a strong history in sales gained through working with brands such as Walkers and Hays Recruitment. David’s product knowledge and experience means he is the ideal candidate to develop the society’s intermediary channel in the South West.
Commenting on the new appointments, intermediary distribution manager David Castling said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Stephen and David to the intermediary team. Our intermediary division is growing rapidly and this will continue as we sell our new product One Fund, which has been launched exclusively to the broker channel. It is an exciting time to be joining our company and we look forward to benefitting from the experience both appointments will bring to the intermediary sales team.”
