The member engagement programme

The Divisional Structure

For well over 100 years National Deposit had a divisional structure, with committees based around the country. One member representative from each division was elected onto a delegate board that met at least six times a year.

Over the years the committees gradually closed or were merged and it was felt the delegate board no longer represent the diversity of the society. National Deposit recognised the importance of retaining a strong member engagement programme so two new communication streams were introduced; the Focus Group and the Research Community.

Focus Group

The Focus Group comprises of a cross-section of around 50 members. They are invited to meet with the directors and the society’s management team, as well as completing questionnaires or taking part in surveys by email, phone and post.

The Website User Panel

9 members of the focus group were selected to create a user panel to help with the development of the new National Friendly website. They provided feedback on design, layout and content to help us to create the customer friendly website we hoped for.

Research Community

The Research Community consists of around 400 members of all ages and backgrounds. It provides a non face-to-face platform for Nation Friendly’s members to give feedback on a range of subjects such as new products, advertising campaigns, product literature, statement information and much more.
